Ar. Achal K. Choudhary, Founder President IPS Group of Institutions, is a renowned name in the field of Architecture, Education and Social Activities. The legend who introduced Professional Education in Indore transforming it into an Education Hub and holding Directorship in 8 Private and Public Ltd. Companies.

 

Ar. Achal K. Choudhary, son of a distinguished Professor, an eminent educationist, architect of repute in Central India, a great visionary, a philanthropist, an entrepreneur, an Alumni of IIT Kharagpur and above all a wonderful human being.

 

Born in the holy city of Ujjain, on 12 December 1951, he is the 3rd child of the 5 children of  Prof. Tej Singh Choudhary and Smt. Kumudini Choudhary.

 

Ar. Achal K. Choudhary inherited the soul of education in legacy. He came into the world with an educational flair in his blood. Both his grandfather and father gave their relentless services  in the field of education. His father Shri Tej Singh Choudhary was a Professor at Madhav College, Ujjain who later got transferred to Rampura in the year 1960.

 

Ar. Achal K. Choudhary grew up in Rampura near Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, where he completed his schooling from a Govt. School. It was during his school life that he was inspired by one of his teachers which proved to be the turning point in his life and the path to IIT, Kharagpur.

 

He was an all-rounder in his school days; an exceptional student who showed immense interest in Science and Mathematics. When he was still in school, he was already reading college books and loved making his own formulae in Calculus, Statistics and Co-ordinate Geometry. He displayed equal interest in sports such as Cricket and Table Tennis since his childhood.

He was so confident of his skills and dreams that even before the result of his IIT Entrance Exam was declared, he prophesied that he was going to the IIT. His passion for Science, Research and further studies led him to the prestigious IIT Kharagpur where he pursued a degree in Architecture.

Ar. Achal K. Choudhary started his professional journey as an Architect joining a firm at Ranchi on his return from Kharagpur. The decision to come back was due to the strong commitment to repay the people, city and society what he was given. His learning in IIT Kharagpur and his hard work instilled confidence in him and within a year, he started his own firm establishing himself as an extraordinary Architect. His career flourished as an Architect bringing him name and fame. He got several lucrative offers to work with MNCs outside India but the unquenched thirst to do something different and return to the city what he had got from it, made him stay to his roots. He decided never to leave his motherland unlike those who flew to foreign lands in search of greener pastures.

 

Ar. Achal Choudhary is a humble, kind, generous, soft spoken and down-to-earth person who values his relationships with utmost priority and affection. For him Nation, family and friends are very precious. He likes to share his happiness with people around him. He shares a loving bond with his better half, Mrs. Kumud Choudhary and is a loving father for his daughters, Ms. Shikha Choudhary and Ms. Neer Choudhary whom his parenting has groomed to become ‘Women of Substance’ and who are now carrying the legacy of successfully taking Indore Public School to new scaling heights.

 

Likewise, he shares a loving bond with his siblings and other members in the family making them an inseparable part of his life. His friendship with Mr. Yogendra Jain is yet another unmatched example for people to take inspiration from.

Ar. Achal Choudhary explored the field of Education when he looked for good schools for his daughter's admission and found that no school provided the infrastructure and methodology that he wanted for grooming his daughter's skills. He was on an outlook for schools with excellent academics as well as sports. Having found none to match his idea of  'a dream school', he thought of gifting the city a school which could provide quality holistic education at affordable fees for the general public.

 

Thus, Indore Public School came into existence in1987 with a noble purpose which was to cater to the Educational needs of the middle class people who wanted quality Education for their children but could not afford to meet the high fee structure of the very few Public Schools existing then. Indore Public School was established in 1987 with the motto of Care, Capacity and Capability.

 

An IITian had decided to build a temple of learning rather than mere structures. This visionary being an architect, has a foresight to start from beneath, in the foundations, which has led the school to reach pinnacle heights.

Indore Public School soon became a pioneer institution and a trend setter with its CBSE affiliation, Computer Education, Transportation system and the state-of-the-art infrastructure along with the high quality of education. What started in a small campus has now bloomed into 4 Campuses and the IPS Academy spreading to 16 colleges, 79 courses and over 10,000 Students making it one of India's top ranking Institutes. The Academy's Architecture course is ranked among Top 5 in India and stands No.1 in Madhya Pradesh. The presence of IPS alumni spread across the globe stands testimony to the triumph of Mr. Choudhary.

 

When once asked as to why Ar. Choudhary is still into expanding his empire, he outwitted everyone by simply replying that it's neither for name nor fame, not even wealth - the sole aim for further infrastructural facilities and development is to provide facilities to Students in their own city and giving them opportunities to explore. This will ensure self reliance and give way to economic strength of the Nation - exactly what our Hon. Prime Minister is promoting through various schemes and programs.

 

Ar. Achal Choudhary is so passionate about providing latest infrastructural opportunities to children that he has installed a telescope in the campus. The Telescope is Central India's biggest telescope that enables to view an object, 98 times magnified than its original form. It is a celestron 14" schimdt telescope with focal length of 3900mm and maximum magnification of 98x, mounted on the rooftop. There are three 76mm celestron telescopes also to gaze the stars here. The physics lab also has some advanced equipments like Foucault pendulum to show the rotation of the Earth. This is the result of Ar. Choudhary's passion for Science and giving his students a lifetime learning experience.

 

Ar. Achal Choudhary is a true patriot who has stayed back in his motherland in spite of getting lucrative opportunities to go abroad. Instead, he preferred to educate the children of his land and contribute towards the economic development curtailing brain drain. He has allocated an amount of Rs. One crore per year to facilitate research and development. He strongly believes that there is immense talent in children which needs to be identified and this latent talent should be ignited by providing the opportunities and the right kind of learning environment. Such ignited minds should be given the freedom to explore and innovate. With the changing times and the need of the hour, what started as ‘Care, Capacity, Capability’ has now been upgraded to ‘Identify, Ignite, Innovate’.

 

He has started several Scholarship Programs to promote academic excellence along with Sportsmanship spirit. Special Scholarships for children of Defence Personnel and Health Care Workers are a direct way to repay the efforts of our Defence Personnel and the frontline warriors and acknowledge their tireless contributions.

In addition to his profession as an Architect, Ar. Achal Choudhary is well connected with different social groups and sports activities. As a responsible citizen, he always feels the need to give more to the society. He has directed his efforts towards facilitating affordable education, strengthening Research and Development, constructing eco-friendly structures and facilitating unmatched education to one and all.

 

Apart from holding respectable positions in the educational world and the construction sector, he serves as the All India President of Shwetambar Jain Samaj and rigorously works towards its development thus proving the religious dimension in his multifaceted personality.

 

Ar. Choudhary has taken many social initiatives for the development of the society at large. Projects like ‘Ambhas’ for water conservation, ‘Gyan Vistar’ for educating the underprivileged children, project 'Muskan' to name a few, are the initiatives in various social dimensions towards social concern. The entire water used in the IPS campus is recycled and made available for re-use thus making the optimum usage of the precious liquid.

 

He organizes regular blood donation camps wherein approximately 1000+ units of blood is donated to Thalassemic children. He organizes plantation drives and has initiated regular seed bomb workshops. He is actively promoting people to reduce the use of plastic and switch to bio-degradable products. He has strongly raised voice to remove social taboos related to Menstrual Hygiene, Mental Illness and promote Girl Child Education. He has initiated the Rudimentary education and stitching classes for women empowerment. He has also worked toward concern for the elderly people by connecting the youth and imbibing moral values in them.

 

Ar. Achal Choudhary proved to be a good Samaritan when he generously donated Rs. 20,00,000 to the Red Cross Society through the CBSE Private Schools Association during the Covid Times. He donated Rs. 2,50,000 for PPE kits through a campaign by Dainik Bhaskar. He even took an initiative to feed the stray dogs during the lockdown period. Apart from this he has donated chapatis and several quintals of wheat voluntarily during the lockdown period. For those migrants who were moving towards their home towns on foot, Ar. Achal Choudhary provided transportation utilizing the fleet of buses along with a team of volunteers escorting them safely to their destinations.

Ar. Achal Choudhary is an Associate and Fellow of the Indian Institute of Architects having meritoriously completing his Bachelors in Architecture (Honours). Two of his prominent societies namely ‘Innovative Education and Services Society’ and ‘Federation of Professional Institute of Madhya Pradesh’ have been Registered with the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh which are testimonies of his contribution to the educational field.

 

Ar. Achal Choudhary has been bestowed with innumerable awards for his revolutionary ideas of innovation and tireless efforts to reform the society through education. To count on a few are the ‘Eminence Award in the field of Education’ awarded recently by the Honorable Chief Minister Mr. Kamalnath. Furthermore, Achal Sir also received the ‘Outlook Icons of Madhya Pradesh Award from our Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Kamalnath. Recently, he was conferred the prestigious Dainik Bhaskar ‘Eminence Award’ for the year 2022 from Cabinet Minister Hon. Nitin Gadkari. Counting on a few more awards are : ‘Samaj Gaurav Sammaan’ by Akhil Bharatiya Jain Shwetamber Social Groups Federation; ‘Most Valued Customer Award’ by Exide Life Insurance, Certificate of Honour from Star Book of World Records. He has been honoured by Central Regional IIA Fraternity, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh, Rajasthan and Gujarat Chapters for his extraordinary contribution in Architecture.
